Compare two accounts of a place
Choose a place discussed in two books and list the different details each writer notices. Compare their purposes and the periods they describe. Differences can reveal perspective without requiring you to decide that one account tells the whole story.
Keep the finished note with its date and source material. Return to it when you repeat the exercise, and add what changed rather than replacing the earlier observation.
