Make a travel-reading card
Record the title, author, edition and publication date. Note when the journey described actually happened, if the book tells you. Distinguish the writer's experience from practical details that may have changed.
Choose a short passage to describe in your own words and note its page reference. Ask whose perspective is missing or what the writer takes for granted. Keep quotations brief and accurately attributed.
